The unfamous holes in the soles of my Golden Goose
If there's one thing that defines my life in NYC, it's the thousands of kilometers I walk every day and one thing in common between sneakers, sandals, shoes and boots is that I constantly have to repair their soles. I never thought I'd walk so far as to put a hole in the soles of my Golden Goose (they infamously get holes every year), and when I that happened on my first year here I refused to retire them. It's too much money invested in these shoes for me to give up and I quickly needed a solution to restore them all. I always take my finest shoes to an amazing shop in Midtown to have the soles restored: the shop is fantastic and I've mentioned it many times on IG. However, recovering the soles of the sneakers was something more complex…
Recently the NY Times published a great article about the new GG's store in Milan that bet on sneaker repair. Interesting, but the service has not become a reality in the NYC store, so I needed another local solution.
